For our newer clients you may not know Kyla, but she’s a very special person who was an important part of our Orange Lily family. Kyla passed away in July of 2021, and this is her story.
Back in the beginning, when Orange Lily was just a baby, we decided it was time to have a helper in the salon. Just a few hours a week. Sweeping, tidying, answering the phones.
Kyla was our girl. A lil shy 15 year old girl, making clients feel welcome, making Orange Lily her home. Years went by, then one day she told me her dreams of being a stylist. Kyla had just finished high school, was working in the mall, but wanting a career.
So, we created a brand new position. We were going to teach her EVERYTHING. Our friend April, agreed to be her journeyman. And then @kylascissorhands emerged, at full force. The natural talent out of that young girl was astounding.
Our shiniest star at Orange Lily.
Love, laughter and passion with an abundance unconditional love was what Kyla brought.
Thank you to all of our guests that made her feel special and loved.
We will miss Kyla endlessly.
Please talk of Kyla often. Tell your stories. Remember her with the fondness that she deserves. Your work family will miss you Kyla.
Be our angel, be at peace. Forever an Orange Lily Lady.
